On the eve of the World Cup 2010 kickoff in South Africa Leo Laporte and I discussed technology at the tournament and how South Africa has been upgraded for the biggest event in human history. Microsoft has arguably the best offering available in modern console gaming with the combination of the Xbox 360 platform and accompanying Xbox Live service. However, the global rollout strategy for Xbox Live is far behind that of its primary competition; the Playstation Network (PSN). This lamp is just off the beach in Southbroom, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Over the busy festive season it lights the beach parking for holiday makers. The rest of the year it diligently illuminates the area every night without a soul in sight.
